Kings of Summer
Photographs like these aren’t rare, but they are special. To me, this is visual poetry that pulls me into a 2 dimension world. I can feel what’s going on in each image, not just because I was there to photograph them, but because I too have been there, in love and being silly about it.
These two are just a couple kids living on their own, irresistibly and inextricably linked to each other. One sip, one hit, one kiss… they say it’s bad for you but boy that’s really just where the fun starts.
Summer nights like these take so long, 6, 7, 8… 9… 10 pm and half a day is spent with each other smoking, drinking, being silly, playing, and loving—living while the youth runs through one’s veins. Relationships like these aren’t rare, but they are special.
Laying around in a park is one of life’s ultimate luxuries in my experience. I haven’t done it in many years.
